Having a daily production capacity of 35 units, Akdeniz Halý Sergileme Sistemleri (Akdeniz Carpet and Rug Display Systems Co.) is producing display systems for all types of floor covering materials since 1978. In their early years, the company was active mainly in internal market and participating in local fairs only. Akdeniz Halý, prospered more than what was ever expected, started to follow internatonal fairs that are related to floor coverings industry. Company owner Hilmi Akdeniz explained this process to Floor Magazine: “We have been participating in Domotex Hannover for the last 4 years. Our export activities gained significant acceleration thanks to Domotex Fair. Leading with the European countries, today we export our products to the North and South America, North Africa, Middle East, Australia, CIS and Russia.”
The company offers a wide range of products such as rail display systems, book display systems and panel display systems for carpets, waterfall systems for rugs, stand clips and clamps, rail systems are especially in brisk demand. Concerning the preferences of the customers, Hilmi Akdeniz says; “European countries prefer rail systems whereas Australia, American and South Asian countries generally demand book systems. Our products are robust and long lasting and customers usually prefer black, white or gray colors. Incase of a demand for a different color, our display systems can be painted according to the preferences.”
Akdeniz Halý recorded an export volume of 600.000 YTL last year and the company is planning to increase this figure up to 1.000.000 YTL in 2007. In order to double up the current export figures, the company continues the redevelopment plans and practices within this context.
The considerable market potential in American region attracted the company’s attention. Consequently the company aims to expand into this market in 2007 and increase their export volume.
Akdeniz concluded his words saying: “We are very proud of knowing that our products are highly appreciated in other countries. This is also motivating us in terms of increasing our production quality. Overseas activities are not necessarily equal to material advantage only. The experiences we had in international arena helped us a lot in improving our production and service procedures. We don’t have any partners in overseas yet. However we are open to any company who is willing to become a dealer.”
