A TURKISH GIANT IN WORLD MARKETS

Erkan Bükücü: “Our company is operating on an area of 12.000 square meters in Gaziantep and has an annual production capacity of 2.5 million sqm. 60% of the total production is exported to the world markets, mainly to Europe and Asia. Last year we recorded an export volume of 3.5 million dollar. In 2007 this figure is expected to increase up to 5 million dollar.”

Bükücü Tekstil (Bükücü Carpet Co.), started carpet manufacturing in 1978, has achived great success with their high quality products under the brand names Çayırlı, Daisy and Giza in European and Asian markets. Operating on an area of 12.000 sqm in Gaziantep, the company has an annual production capacity of 2.5 million square meters.

60% of the total production is exported to the world markets, mainly to Europe and Asia. Erkan Bükücü, Export Manager of Bükücü Tekstil, explained the reasons of the growing demand for their products: “Our products are high quality and very attractive in appearance. R&D is one of the most significant values that we focus on and our product range is based on diversity and development.” Erkan Bükücü says that there are some differences in the exports products by means of quality, pattern and color preferences. “Turkish customers prefer long lasting, durable and washable carpets. According to the demands of our customers, we developed a special kind of acrylic carpet which is durable, robust, washable and anti-felt.“ adds Erkan Bükücü.

Last year Bükücü Tekstil recorded an export volume of 3.5 million dollar. In 2007 the company is expecting an increase in this figure, up to 5 million dollar.

When asked about the possibility of new markets, Bükücü responded “Our product range have the capacity to address almost any market. However we are open to any kind of special requests and ideas.”

Bükücü Tekstil doesn’t have any partnership with a foreign company. Yet the company is evaluating the proposals. Companies interested in partnership may contact Bükücü Tekstil by internet in order to start the process.
