NEW HANDTUFTED CARPETS FOR EUROPEAN MARKET

Veysel Özgencil: “Developing different products and new techniques are the main necessities for the companies who want to increase their market share and improve the company vision in a competitive environment. We have been receiving new demands from overseas and exporting mainly to America and Iraq. We are planning to increase our market share especially in European countries.”

Mumcular Tekstil San. (Mumcular Textile Industry and Trade Co.), established in 1981, has been active in yarn production and cotton trade-export ever since. In 2000, the company stepped into carpet sector by forming retailers. Improving the company vision and sector activities by carpet import, Mumcular Tekstil started producing handtuft shaggy and carpet by means of handtuft manufacture techniques. In 2005, the company had their own trademark; Tufthome.

Mumcular Tekstil is mainly using the advanced technology of robot tufting. However intensive and well qualified handicraftsmanship is also included in the production. In early years, the company focused on internal market and then started performing export activities.

New demands from overseas accelerated export activities and today the company is exporting mainly to America and Iraq. Mumcular Tekstil is planning to expand their market share, especially in European countries. Having the advantage of being geographically closer to Europe, the company is now ready to offer their products, advanced technology and service quality to European market.

“Product model and colors differ from country to country. In Turkey, customers usually prefer rather colorful models. According to the demands, we are producing shaggy and tufted carpets in different qualities.” says Veysel Özgencil, Foreign Trade Manager of the company.

Underlining that the company’s export figures indicate positive signals, Özgencil concluded: “Companies must perform export activities in terms of expanding their existing capacities and being more competitive. If consumption is limited by a single country, total consumption will also be within specific limits. At this point, export is an access to major markets and demands. Developing different products and new techniques are the main necessities for the companies who want to increase their market share and improve the company vision in a competitive environment. ”
